Stick 'n' Step is a parent-led charity aiming to maximise the potential of children with Cerebral Palsy. We do this through Conductive Educatio. A team of Conductors trained at the renowned Peto Institutwe in Budapest work with children of all ages. They have the skills and expertise to promote independence in the children. The aim of Conductiver Education is to allow the individuals to reach maximum independence and to enjoy a better quality of life. Stick 'n' Step raise funds to provide this free of charge in order that every child can have the opportunity of receiving Conductive Education.
Our Vision-
Stick 'n Step aim to provide Conductive Education to as many youngsters as possible free of charge. Elsewhere Conductive Education can cost between £350 and £400 per week. We receive no government backing, no local authority funding and we are completely self - funded. Since opening we have managed to establish sessions 6 days a week as well as after school and summer clubs. We hope to achieve a Centre of Excellence in the North West to cater for many many more children with Cerebral Palsy and give them the opportunity for a better quality of life.
Programmes and Activities-
Conductive Education encourages the children to wotrk for themselves. They work in small groups and the emphasis is on fun. Sessions are divided into babies, nursery and school -age groups with a broad ratio of 2 children per Conductor. Stick 'n' Step is committed to working towards finding just what a child is capable of achieving and then working towards that goal.
